***DRIVER & EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN***
Enjoy driving, being hands-on and having a role where no two days are quite the same? We’re looking for a reliable, practical Driver & Equipment Technician to join a busy team, with driving and deliveries forming the main part of the role.
Salary up to £34K depending on experience
You’ll spend much of your time out on the road, driving a long-wheelbase van to deliver and collect equipment from customer sites, often in London, so confidence behind the wheel and a good understanding of safe driving are essential.
When you’re not out making deliveries, you’ll help prepare, maintain and test equipment in the workshop. Don’t worry if you haven’t carried out PAT testing before, as this is a secondary part of the role and training can be provided.
Key responsibilities for the Driver & Equipment Technician include,
- Driving a long-wheelbase van to deliver and collect equipment from customer sites, often in London
- Loading and unloading equipment safely, ensuring deliveries and collections run smoothly
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately and providing a professional, friendly service to customers
- Carrying out vehicle checks and keeping the van clean, safe and roadworthy
- Cleaning, preparing and checking equipment ready for hire or dispatch
- Assisting with basic servicing, maintenance and fault-finding on equipment
- Carrying out PAT testing and electrical safety checks following training
- Helping maintain an organised workshop and warehouse, including supporting stock control
- Occasionally assisting engineers with equipment installations and on-site work
The ideal Driver & Equipment Technician will have,
- A full, clean UK driving licence and confidence driving a long-wheelbase van
- Experience driving larger vans, ideally in a delivery or collection role
- A good knowledge of London roads and the confidence to navigate busy locations would be a real advantage
- A reliable, organised approach, with a focus on punctuality and safe handling of equipment
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to help with workshop duties when required
- Good communication skills and a customer-friendly approach
- A willingness to learn new technical skills, including PAT testing
If you’re looking for a stable, varied role where driving is the priority but you can also develop new skills and get hands-on with equipment, we’d like to hear from you!
